Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you all have an absolutely terrific weekend! We are having my aunt, uncle, and cousin over to get stuffed. My aunt and cousin have problems with some foods, so my mom has gone above and beyond creating a nice meal for everyone. I sure am excited to see them!

God has blessed me and my family sooo much over the past year. We have so much to be grateful for. God blesses us all throughout our lives. He has proven to me as well, that He can use tragedy for a big purpose, something that could change our lives forever. Some of you may have had a good year or a bad year. I've come to think that God uses tragedy, hurt, and disappointment to help us trust Him more with our lives.
Love you all so much and hope that you have a great Thanksgiving!

Food: A Love Story by Jim Gaffigan

Food: A Love Story by Jim Gaffigan is HILARIOUS! My family and I are huge fans of Jim Gaffigan, who is a mostly- clean- comedian from New York City and father of five busy children.

 Food: A Love Story

Food: A Love Story is about, well, food. Though his first book, Dad Is Fat, was about parenting and children, the next book is about something (according to the book!) he loves almost as much. I thoroughly enjoyed his analysis of everything from McDonald's, to Hot Pockets, to cake. He is truly passionate about his food and has spent several hours studying (and eating) it.

I would very much recommend this book to anyone, but I should mention that there is some minor cursing, so maybe this is an adult read.

Review for: Where Treetops Glisten

Where Treetops Glisten is a heartwarming volume of three miniature novels of siblings about love, World War II, and Christmas time.

The first story is White Christmas by Cara Putnam.  This is a sweet story about a girl named Abigail who has recently lost her beau to the war. Then she meets Jackson Lucas and he changes her mind about being safely single.
The second story is I'll Be Home For Christmas by Sarah Sundin. Pete returns home from the Air Force and just feels empty. When he reconnects with a widow he used to bully when he was a boy, he helps watching her daughter and she slowly begins to trust Pete again.

The last story is called Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas by Tricia Goyer. Meridith is a nurse in Holland.  After she left nursing school in Miami, she has tried to keep busy with her work. But before she knows, she is in love!

I really enjoyed this book. I like historical fiction and though it was more of a romance than a history fiction book, it was very accurate. Two big thumbs up!!!
