"I Tried Until I Almost Died" by Sandra McCollom ia a book about McCollom's journey from struggling to perfection and how she got out of the destructive cycle.
McCollom shares how she had such a need for perfection that it was beginning to ruin her relationships with her husband, children, and the people around her. She goes into detail about her rules and regulations for her two girls, and how they became fearful and sad around her.
But in 2012, God began to change things for McCollom. He began to show her that she needed to relax. Not only was her behavior bad for her mentally, but it was destroying her physically as well.
This book, in my opinion, was a little redundant. Her writing style tends to repeat the same point over again to make sure it gets across. Her story is good, but I wouldn't say it is book worthy.
